Established in 1969, the Assyrian Australian Association (AAA) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and strengthening the Assyrian community across Australia.
For more than five decades, the Association has been a place where people come together to connect, celebrate their heritage and support one another. Through a diverse range of programs and services, including community services, language schools, the Ashurbanipal Library, seniors programs, scholarships, cultural festivals and community events, we continue to enrich the lives of individuals and families across generations.
Today, the AAA remains one of Australia’s leading Assyrian organisations, committed to preserving our language, culture and identity while helping build a vibrant and inclusive future for our community.
Our mission is to enrich the lives of the Assyrian community by providing opportunities, services and programs that empower individuals and families, preserve our language and cultural heritage, promote lifelong learning, and foster a strong, connected and inclusive community for future generations.
We celebrate, protect and promote the Assyrian language, history, culture and traditions, ensuring they are passed on to future generations.
We provide programs, services and opportunities that support lifelong learning, wellbeing, participation and personal growth for people of all ages.
We value every individual, embrace diversity and foster an environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected and connected.
We act with honesty, fairness and transparency, maintaining the trust of our members through ethical leadership and responsible governance.
We believe strong communities are built through partnership, volunteering and working together to create opportunities that benefit current and future generations.
Through language schools, cultural events, and community publications, the AAA is committed to passing the Assyrian identity on to the next generation of Australians.
