Overview

Approved Proposing Organisation for the CSP

The Assyrian Australian Association has been appointed as an Approved Proposing Organisation (APO) for the Australian Government’s Community Support Program (CSP). The program supports refugees and people in humanitarian need to receive remote sponsorship from families, individuals and community groups in Australia.

As an APO, the AAA connects community members and businesses with prospective CSP applicants, manages the visa application process, and helps entrants and their families find accommodation and settle into the community. The AAA’s role is to provide settlement services support to CSP entrants within a 12-month period.

“The Assyrian Australian Association has been assisting refugees since 1980, focusing on social and economic participation, personal wellbeing, independence and community connectedness.”

Six commitments behind every referral and conversation

Linking employers with prospective humanitarian applicants.

Lodging visa applications on behalf of applicants and supporters.

Providing and managing settlement services after arrival, helping entrants become financially independent within their first 12 months.

Eligibility

Who the CSP is designed for

CSP applicants must align with the regional, global and settlement priorities of the Australian Government, and satisfy all Class XB Subclass 202 visa criteria. To align with settlement priorities, the main applicant must:

Be aged between 18 and 50

Have functional English language skills

Have an offer of employment, or skills to be work-ready on arrival

Meet the government's global, regional and settlement priorities

How to Apply

Submitting an Expression of Interest

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria above are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). A representative of the AAA will then get in touch to further discuss eligibility.

The EOI form covers visa applicant details, refugee and residency status, previous visa applications, job readiness, and supporter details and settlement capacity — so it’s worth having this information on hand before you start.

Expressions of Interest are currently closed

The CSP is not accepting new EOIs until further notice. Contact the Resource Centre to be notified when the program reopens.

Delivery Partner

Supporting Community Organisation (SCO)

As an APO, the AAA engages Settlement Community Organisations (SCOs) to help deliver settlement services to CSP entrants, in line with Department of Home Affairs requirements. Where an SCO is engaged to support a family directly, that family is formally notified of their nominated SCO upon arrival in Australia.
