AAA Congratulates Carmen Lazar, OAM on her election as Fairfield City Councillor
The Assyrian Australian Association (AAA) would like to congratulate Carmen Lazar, OAM on her election as councillor in the Fairfield City Local Government election, held last Saturday, 4th December 2021.
Mrs Lazar has been involved with the Assyrian Australian Association for at least 25 years, as Vice-President and Secretary from 1996 to 2008, as well as being Principal of the Assyrian Diqlat Language School from 2001 to 2014. Carmen has been with the Assyrian Resource Centre (ARC) for the past 10 years. She will continue running the ARC alongside her commitments as a Cabravale Ward councillor.
We look forward to working with Carmen in her capacity as a councillor on all local matters concerning the Assyrian community.
The ARC was established by the AAA in 1984 to provide for the settlement needs of the growing Assyrian community in Fairfield and Liverpool. In recent years, it has catered to approximately 3,500 clients per year.
